Connect Cursor to Spoki with an API key. Cursor talks to the server directly. You do not need mcp-remote.
Server URL:
https://mcp.spoki.com/v2/mcp
Need a key? Authentication and URL. ← Get Started with Spoki MCP
Steps #
- Open Cursor Settings → MCP and click Add new MCP server (Cursor opens
mcp.json). - Paste the config below. Replace
YOUR_API_KEYwith your Spoki key. - Save the file.
- In Settings → MCP, confirm spoki shows a green status and a list of tools.
- In a chat with tools enabled, ask: “What tags do I have in Spoki?”
{
"mcpServers": {
"spoki": {
"url": "https://mcp.spoki.com/v2/mcp",
"headers": {
"X-Spoki-Api-Key": "YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}
}
}
Tip: keep the key out of the file with env var SPOKI_API_KEY and header value ${env:SPOKI_API_KEY}. The same URL and header work for Cursor Cloud Agents.
You’re done when… #
- spoki is green in Cursor Settings → MCP and shows tools.
- A chat can answer a simple Spoki question.
Common problems #
- Red / no tools: Check the key (no spaces), save mcp.json, and restart the MCP server from Settings.
- Wrong URL: Use exactly
https://mcp.spoki.com/v2/mcp. - Key in git: Use
${env:SPOKI_API_KEY}and never commit real keys.
