This release introduces a new trigger for WhatsApp automations based on the time a user spends on a specific web page. Users can now initiate an automation when a visitor remains on a designated page, such as a pricing page or a product detail page, for a predefined duration. This functionality is configured within the automation workflow by adding a Pixel behavior starting step and selecting the ‘Spent time’ scenario.
What’s new #
A new trigger option has been added to Spoki automations, allowing users to initiate a WhatsApp message based on the duration a contact spends viewing a specific page on a website where the Spoki Pixel is installed. This feature enables more precise engagement by responding to user behavior that indicates a higher level of interest.
The system tracks the actual time a page is actively on screen. If the user navigates away from the page or switches to another tab, the timer pauses. The automation will only trigger once the cumulative active viewing time meets the configured threshold.

Configuration Steps: #
- Navigate to Automations and open an existing automation or create a new one.
- Add a new starting step by selecting Pixel behavior.
- Within the Pixel behavior configuration, choose the Spent time scenario.
- Define the specific duration (in seconds, minutes, or hours) that a user must spend on the page for the automation to trigger.
- Specify the URL or a pattern of URLs for the pages that will activate this trigger.

Where to find it #
- Automations → Add a trigger → Pixel behavior → Spent time.
- A brief overview of the Spoki Pixel functionality, including this new trigger, can be found under Integrations → Spoki Pixel.
Impact #
This update introduces a new trigger option for all Spoki users with access to the Automations feature and the Spoki Pixel. Existing automations are not affected. Users who wish to leverage this new functionality will need to create new automation starting steps or modify existing ones to include the ‘Spent time’ Pixel behavior trigger. No existing functionality is deprecated or altered in a way that would break current configurations.
