Spoki now integrates email as a communication channel, alongside existing WhatsApp and SMS capabilities. This update allows users to connect their mailboxes (Gmail or any SMTP/IMAP provider) directly within the platform, enabling the management of customer emails from a centralized interface. Users can send and receive emails within the chat interface, including subject lines and Cc/Bcc options, with all replies remaining within the same conversation thread. Additionally, a new ‘Send Email’ step has been added to Automations, and channel management options provide control over connected mailboxes.
What’s new #
The Spoki platform now supports email as a primary communication channel. This integration allows for the direct management of email communications with contacts without leaving the Spoki environment.
- Email Channel Integration: You can now connect your email accounts (supporting Gmail and any provider with SMTP/IMAP) to Spoki. This expands the platform’s communication capabilities beyond WhatsApp and SMS.
- In-Chat Email Management: Within the chat interface, you can compose and send new emails, receive incoming emails, and manage ongoing email conversations. Features include the ability to add a subject line and utilize Cc/Bcc fields. All email replies are maintained within the same conversation thread for a unified view.

- Chat Filter for Email: A new filter option has been introduced in the chat interface. This allows you to specifically view and focus on email discussions, which is particularly useful when a contact has multiple active conversations across different channels.

- Automation Enhancements: A new ‘Send Email’ step is available within the Automations feature. This enables you to incorporate email outreach directly into your automated workflows, allowing flows to reach contacts via email.

- Channel Control: You retain full control over your connected email channels. Options are available to rename channels, check their status and type, and disconnect a mailbox at any time. Disconnecting a mailbox preserves the chat history, allowing for future reconnection of the same address without data loss.

Where to find it #
- Connecting Mailboxes: Navigate to
Channels & Numberswithin the Spoki platform to connect your email accounts. - Email in Chat: The chat interface now displays email conversations alongside WhatsApp and SMS. The new chat filter for email is accessible within the chat view.
- Automation Step: The ‘Send Email’ step can be found and configured within the Automation builder when creating or editing a flow.
- Channel Management: Options for renaming, checking status, and disconnecting mailboxes are located within the
Channels & Numberssection.
Impact #
- Affected Users: All Spoki customers and operators who manage customer communications will be affected. This update provides an additional channel for communication and workflow management.
- No Breaking Changes: This release introduces new functionality and does not remove or alter existing features in a way that would break current workflows for WhatsApp or SMS. Existing automations and communication methods remain functional.
- Streamlined Communication: The primary impact is the ability to centralize email communication within Spoki, potentially reducing the need to switch between multiple platforms for customer interactions.
